Exemption from Venice Access Fee

Starting from April 2024, access to the city of Venice will be subject to a fee on specific dates, unless the visitor falls into one of the exempt categories.

Details about the Access Fee

From April 25th to July 14th, 2024, access to the city of Venice will be subject to a €5 per day fee, applicable from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, unless the visitor qualifies for an exemption. The fee is not applied between 4:00 PM and 8:30 AM.

Exempt Categories for the Access Fee

  • Residents and those born in the Municipality of Venice: Exempt from the fee, with no need to register. Proof of residence is required.
  • Minors under 14 years old: Exempt from the fee. In case of non-obvious age, an identity document will be sufficient.
  • Holders of the European Disability Card and their caregivers: Exempt from the fee by presenting their card without the need to register on the Portal.

How to Obtain the Exemption

To benefit from the exemption, registration is required to obtain the exemption voucher via the Portal. Residents and holders of the European Disability Card are automatically exempt, with no registration needed.

Additional Information on the Access Fee

The access fee is not applicable to those passing through Piazzale Roma, Tronchetto, or the Maritime Station without entering the ancient city. It also does not apply to the minor islands of the Venice Lagoon.
